Making Plastic Packaging Disappear with Notpla
Plastic is taking over the oceans and its impacts like the ingestion, suffocation and entanglement of hundreds of marine species are visibly disturbing. Plastic pollution is also causing global warming and traces of plastic can be found in the water we consume. It is essential to reduce our plastic use for the wellbeing of future generations.
Notpla came up with a campaign called ‘Making Packaging Disappear’ to help reduce plastic pollution in the oceans. Notpla basically stands for Not Plastic. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic packaging. Made with seaweed, Notpla’s literally takes the packaging out of the sea instead of polluting the seas with it. It is being used to create Ooho which is an edible packaging used for things like water, juice, cocktails, shots, and sachets for sauces among other things. The genius edible packaging also biodegrades in four to six weeks making it an amazing alternative to plastic use.
