The Royal Australian Navy Highlights the Value of Human Intelligence in the Age of A.I.
As technology has evolved, more and more laborious jobs have been taken over by machines. However, since the advent of artificial intelligence(AI), the pace at which machines have been replacing human jobs has been alarming and this has also led to cases of severe unemployment in several countries.
The Royal Australian Navy launched its new campaign to hire Cryptologic Linguists who would be required to translate other languages without losing out on the context. To express how AI-based translation doesn’t work well, they take a bunch of popular sayings, movie quotes, and lyrics that have been translated through a sophisticated AI-based translation app and the results make it seem like the entire context seems to be lost in translation. The genius campaign was conceptualized by the agency WPP and goes to show how technology still has a long way to catch up with humans.
