According to data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd has emerged as the top broadband service provider in India with 478.51 million subscribers as of February 2024. This positions Reliance Jio at the forefront of the broadband market in the country.
The total number of broadband subscribers in India witnessed an increase from 911.03 million in January 2024 to 916.77 million in February 2024, indicating a monthly growth rate of 0.63%. The top five broadband service providers, including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL, and Atria Convergence, collectively held a market share of 98.35% by the end of February 2024.
In terms of wired broadband service, Reliance Jio led with 10.92 million subscribers, followed by Bharti Airtel, BSNL, Atria Convergence Technologies, and Oneott Intertainment Limited. For wireless broadband service, Reliance Jio maintained its dominance with 467.59 million subscribers, followed by Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL, and Intech Online Pvt. Ltd.
The report also highlighted that the wireline subscriber base increased to 33.10 million by the end of February 2024, with a monthly growth rate of 1.73%. Additionally, the wireless subscriber base grew from 1,160.71 million in January 2024 to 1,164.64 million in February 2024, registering a monthly growth rate of 0.34%.
Overall, the data underscores Reliance Jio's significant presence in the Indian broadband market, reflecting its continued efforts to expand its subscriber base and maintain its leadership position.
