A Step Forward for Small Business Advertising
LinkedIn is making digital advertising simpler and more effective for small businesses with its latest upgrades to the platform. The updates aim to streamline the way campaigns are launched and managed, cutting down on the time and expertise required while improving results.
At the heart of this update is Auto-Targeting, a feature that allows advertisers to provide basic signals such as a URL, customer lists, or industry details. LinkedIn’s system then identifies the audience most likely to engage and convert, automatically optimising reach. Businesses can still refine targeting with exclusions, ensuring the right ads reach the right people.
Smarter Creative Production with AI
To help small businesses produce more engaging ads, LinkedIn has introduced Draft with AI. This tool uses generative AI, along with existing ad content and Shutterstock visuals, to suggest headlines, text, and images. The output can be fully edited, giving advertisers both efficiency and creative control.
Early results show that small businesses using AI creatives in Accelerate campaigns produced 2.5 times more ads per campaign. LinkedIn’s data also highlights that campaigns featuring five or more ads can improve click-through rates by up to 20 percent.
Canva and Adobe Express Integration
For those without professional design experience, LinkedIn has integrated Canva and Adobe Express directly into its ad platform. This makes it easy to design high-quality visuals and export them straight into Campaign Manager. With access to LinkedIn-optimised templates for images, videos, and carousels, small businesses can cut production time and maintain professional standards.

Smarter Optimisation Tools
LinkedIn has also enhanced its Recommendations feature, offering data-driven suggestions to boost campaign performance. Advertisers can quickly A/B test these recommendations and apply successful changes across multiple campaigns with just one click.
To show how effective the new system can be, LinkedIn shared a sample campaign launch plan that takes less than an hour: selecting objectives in 10 minutes, setting up Auto-Targeting in 10 minutes, producing three to five creative variants in 20 minutes using AI and Canva or Adobe Express, launching in five minutes, and spending the final 10 minutes on post-launch recommendations and A/B testing.
What This Means for Small Businesses
These updates are designed to remove barriers for smaller advertisers, making it possible to run sophisticated campaigns without needing large budgets or expert teams. By focusing on automation, AI, and integrated creative tools, LinkedIn is giving small businesses a clearer path to reaching their audience and maximising results.
As small businesses monitor metrics such as CTR, CPC, and CPL, the combination of AI-driven targeting and creative support promises stronger performance and more efficient use of ad spend.
