A bustling three-day event, Startup Mahakumbh, kicked off at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, drawing together a diverse group of stakeholders from the startup ecosystem. Rajesh Kumar Singh, representing DPIIT, inaugurated the event, emphasising the pivotal role of public-private partnerships in fostering startup growth.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog, painted a picture of India's remarkable journey in the startup world, highlighting its growth to the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, boasting over 1,12,000 startups and 115 unicorns valued at a staggering $350 billion.

PM's Address for the Event

Along with leaders of the start-up ecosystem, Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the occasion, delivering an impassioned address that resonated with entrepreneurs and innovators alike.

Modi hailed India's strides in the startup arena, acknowledging the transformative impact of startups on the country's economic landscape. He reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to supporting and nurturing startups, underscoring their pivotal role in driving innovation and fostering inclusive growth.

Updates from the Startup Mahakumbh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the event at 10:30 am on March 20. Over 40 startups will showcase their innovations, attracting 2,000 startups and 1,000 investors.

MeitY Startup Hub (MSH) hosted tailored masterclasses for startups to enhance growth. There are also thematic pavilions featuring domains like deep tech, climate tech, and fintech.

Seasoned entrepreneurs provided mentorship sessions to aspiring founders.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued advisories for commuters to navigate potential traffic congestion. The event is being hosted by the Ministry of Commerce & Industries which is expecting a significant turnout from bigwigs of the Start-up ecosystem. Notable speakers included industry stalwarts like Deepinder Goyal, Founder of Zomato and government officials.

The three-day event will be an engaging platform for networking, idea exchange, and exploring growth opportunities within the start-up ecosystem of the country.
