Amul is expanding its reach beyond India with the upcoming launch of raw milk products in the US.

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), of which Amul is a member, is preparing to launch four varieties of milk in the US market, within a week. GCMMF President Jayen Mehta shared the exciting news and announced a partnership with the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), a 108-year-old dairy cooperative in the United States.

The announcement was made at the MMPA's annual meeting on March 20 in Detroit. Milk processing will be handled by MMPA while GCMMF will oversee marketing and branding aspects.

The products will be on store shelves in major cities such as New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington, Dallas and Texas, targeting the Indian and Asian diaspora. This is Amul's foray into the US Market.

While it battles with international brands, the move is hailed as an expansive strategy to venture into newer markets, across the globe. In a first for an Indian Dairy brand, the pathway to the international market is surely a win!
