Netflix’s ad-supported plan has grown rapidly, reaching 40 million monthly active users globally. Just a year ago, this number was only 5 million. Now, over 40% of new signups in countries offering ads choose this plan.

New Advertising Partners

Netflix has added more partners to help advertisers measure and verify the success of their ads. These partners include Affinity Solutions, DoubleVerify, EDO Inc, Integral Ad Science, iSpotTV, Kantar, Lucid, NCSolutions, Nielsen, and TVision.

Future Ad Tech Platform

Amy Reinhard, Netflix's president of advertising, announced that Netflix will launch its own advertising technology platform by the end of 2025. This new platform will offer advertisers new ways to buy ads, gain insights, and measure their impact. Reinhard said this move would bring the same level of excellence to their ads plan that has made Netflix a leader in streaming technology.

Subscriber Demographics

Netflix has 270 million subscribers worldwide. Those using the ad-supported plan tend to have higher household incomes and are younger, with a median age of 37. This summer, Netflix will expand its ad-buying options to include The Trade Desk, Google’s Display and Video 360, and Magnite, joining Microsoft as main partners.

Top Streaming Platform

According to Nielsen, Netflix has held more top 10 titles than all other streaming platforms combined over the past three years. More than 70% of Netflix’s ad-supported users watch content for over 10 hours each month, which is 15% higher than the nearest competitor.

Viewer Engagement

Netflix users pay more attention to content, even three hours into a viewing session. They are nearly twice as likely to respond to ads compared to viewers on other streaming services and traditional TV.

New Shows and Series

Netflix has announced several new shows. Comedies like "Golf," starring Will Ferrell, and "Running Point," starring Kate Hudson, are in the works. There are also new dramas such as "The Waterfront" by Kevin Williamson, and a cowboy saga featuring Tim McGraw. The popular series "3 Body Problem" will return with new episodes.

Sports Content

For sports fans, Netflix is producing a documentary series on Jerry Jones and the 1990s Dallas Cowboys. They are also collaborating with the International Olympic Committee on shows like "Simone Biles: Rising," a series on men’s basketball teams, and "Sprint," focusing on 100-meter sprinters.

New Films and NFL Games

Netflix announced new films like "Happy Gilmore 2" and "The Woman in Cabin 10." Additionally, Netflix will stream the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games this year and at least one game in 2025 and 2026.

Interactive Upfront Experience

This year, Netflix introduced an interactive experience for advertisers to engage with popular titles like "Bridgerton," "Squid Game," and "Wednesday."
