Zee Entertainment Enterprises has entered the kids segment with a new digital offering on its streaming platform, positioning the ZEE5 KidZ launch as a step toward a fuller family entertainment portfolio. The move gives children their own curated destination within the service.
KidZ is available through a dedicated profile on ZEE5 across devices, offering more than 140 titles in multiple languages. New content is set to drop every Friday, creating a weekly appointment pattern for young viewers and their families.
The line up combines global and local animation as well as Indian favourites. In its first phase, KidZ will feature shows such as Boonie Bears, Vir, Chacha Bhatija and Inspector Chingum to drive early engagement. Zee has partnered with leading content creators and aggregators from India and abroad to assemble what it positions as entertaining, safe and educational programming.
The company is also drawing on its own production capabilities to prepare a premium slate of originals from December 2025 onward. These projects aim to blend storytelling and information around popular characters, with an emphasis on playful learning. A wider lineup of known kids IPs will accompany the originals.
Chandan Khandelwal, business head for the kids division at ZEE5 India and Global, said the goal is to build a unique destination for children that extends beyond screens into an immersive experience. He noted that KidZ will focus on sparking curiosity and delivering joy, with a strong pipeline of fresh originals supported by top names in kids content.

He added that ZEE5 wants to provide a safe and enriching environment where programming supports both learning and entertainment. Over time, the aim is to establish KidZ as a trusted and premium destination for quality children’s shows.
The launch aligns with strategic priorities outlined to shareholders earlier in the year, where the company identified kids entertainment as an under served yet value accretive segment.
Screen time among younger viewers continues to rise across devices and platforms, with parents looking for spaces that offer both control and meaningful content. For streaming services, a strong kids section can boost household retention and daily viewing, particularly when tied to familiar franchises.
By investing in both licensed titles and originals, Zee is positioning KidZ to compete with established global players while leaning on its local expertise. The move also helps Zee address all consumer cohorts within its digital ecosystem, building scale across genres as it seeks to deepen engagement and time spent on ZEE5.
