Astral, known for its innovation in building materials, has launched a new range of paints called Astral Paints. This new line offers a variety of colours, finishes, and special formulations to meet the needs of painters, designers, and homeowners.
First Phase in Bengaluru
After acquiring a majority stake in Gem Paints in 2022, Astral has launched the first phase of its paint line in Bengaluru. The company is using three paint units and plans to expand across India, starting with Karnataka and Gujarat.

CEO's Plans
Saumya Engineer, CEO of Astral Adhesives & Paints, added, “We are not just adding a new product; we want Astral Paints to be a leading business. Our strategic approach has worked well for our other products, like adhesives and construction chemicals. We will take the same approach with paints. We will introduce our products slowly across different markets and aim to cover India in three years.”
Product Range
Astral Paints offers a wide range of products for different needs. This includes interior and exterior decorative paints in luxury, premium, and economy segments. The products are named Elita, Esteema, and Styla for interiors, and Extura Plus, Extura, and Raga for exteriors. They also offer primers, putties, synthetic enamels, and tools like rollers and brushes.
Extensive Color Palette
Astral Paints provides over 1400 colours, from classic to trendy. They also offer speciality paints like Kitchen Special Paint, which are durable and oil-resistant.
Launch Event
The company held a launch event at a hotel in Bengaluru. Over 300 channel partners attended. The event featured the Engineer family and senior Astral team members. The Engineer family unveiled the ‘Astral Paints Logo’ and launched the ‘Astral Paints Product Range’.
