Instamart has announced a major partnership with Bharat Organics, a farmer led cooperative brand, to make certified organic staples easily accessible across key cities in India. Through this strategic alliance with the National Cooperative Organic Limited, 21 essential organic food products will now be available directly to consumers via the Instamart platform.
This move is part of a larger effort to connect digital first households with authentic, lab tested organic staples such as pulses, cereals, spices, sweeteners, tea, ghee and more. The collaboration stands at the intersection of India’s cooperative farming legacy and the convenience driven digital consumption habits of modern urban buyers.
With this launch, shoppers in metros and tier 1 cities will now have access to products like tur dal, kabuli chana, basmati rice, jaggery powder, turmeric powder, whole leaf green tea, and ashtavinayak desi ghee through their phones. This initiative is also in line with the government’s White Revolution 2.0 agenda, which promotes sustainable agricultural practices and greater digital integration for cooperatives.
Amitesh Jha, CEO of Instamart, said the move reflects Swiggy’s commitment to convenience and quality. He emphasized that the alliance promotes healthier choices while empowering local farming communities by expanding their market reach through technology.
The Ministry of Cooperation also welcomed this move. Shri Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary of the Ministry, described it as a powerful step toward fair trade, transparency, and consumer trust. He noted that the partnership ensures that farmers are not just suppliers but key stakeholders who benefit directly from sales.
Vipul Mittal, Managing Director at NCOL, reinforced this sentiment by highlighting how this partnership allows organic farmers across the country to connect with a new generation of conscious consumers. By using Swiggy Instamart’s widespread network and trust, Bharat Organics is set to reach households nationwide in a meaningful way.
A defining feature of Bharat Organics is its farmer first model. Around half of the profits from product sales are shared directly with member farmers. This ensures that agricultural communities receive fair compensation while encouraging the practice of sustainable farming.
Already present in over 300 Safal outlets and nearly 10,000 local stores in Delhi NCR through its tie up with Mother Dairy, Bharat Organics is now expanding its footprint digitally. The collaboration with Instamart signals a new chapter for food sourcing in India, one that blends traceability, quality, and inclusivity.
