Subrat Kar, a seasoned entrepreneur who previously founded Vidooly, has announced his new venture, MotorFloor. After selling Vidooly to the Good Glamm Group, he is now focusing on an online marketplace for commercial vehicles like trucks, tractors, buses, three-wheelers, and electric vehicles. MotorFloor aims to help buyers find the right vehicles for their business needs and manage the entire buying process on the platform.
MotorFloor's Mission
MotorFloor targets both individual buyers and business owners in various industries such as construction, infrastructure, mining, transportation, travel, FMCG, e-commerce, and small businesses. Subrat Kar explained, “Currently, if someone wants to buy a commercial vehicle, they have to visit many dealers and banks for the best deals and financing options. Often, customers are misled by sales executives. MotorFloor helps customers make informed decisions by providing vehicle specifications, on-road prices, features, and more. They can also talk to our experts and choose financing options all in one place.”
Team and Funding
Currently, MotorFloor is self-funded and operates with a 25-member team based in Bhubaneswar.
Future Plans
MotorFloor plans to expand into the offline market with seven experience centers across Eastern India. These centers will offer unbiased expert opinions, test drives for over ten commercial vehicle brands, and quick financing options. Customers buying through MotorFloor will get better deals, comprehensive service, loan and insurance facilities from partnered financial companies, and an excellent buying experience.
Targeting Rural Markets
MotorFloor also aims to serve Commercial Vehicle OEMs and Auto Ancillary companies by offering marketing solutions that reach audiences beyond Tier 2 towns. The platform focuses on rural customers, especially farmers who are price-sensitive. To convince these customers, MotorFloor plans to showcase physical products and provide a seamless buying journey.
Marketing and Partnerships
MotorFloor has deployed rural marketing agents in three states and plans to expand further. It has partnered with four banks, NBFCs, and three insurance companies to ensure a smooth purchasing experience for customers.
Subrat Kar’s MotorFloor is set to revolutionize the commercial vehicle market in India by providing a comprehensive online and offline buying experience. With its focus on informed decision-making, expert advice, and seamless service, MotorFloor aims to be the go-to platform for commercial vehicle buyers.
