Swiggy is taking a bold step into the workplace dining space with the nationwide launch of DeskEats, a fresh offering built specifically for the modern office-goer. The new service is now live across more than 7,000 tech parks, corporate hubs, and business centres in over 30 Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, and Kolkata.

With DeskEats, Swiggy is not just delivering food. It is delivering an experience that understands the pace, demands, and quirks of professional life. DeskEats includes thoughtfully curated categories like Value Combos, Stress Munchies, Deadline Desserts, Sip-tastic Fuel, One-handed Grabbies, Healthy Nibbles, and Teamwork Bites. Each category caters to a different moment in the workday   whether it's powering through meetings or celebrating team wins.

Users can simply type “Office” or “Work” into the Swiggy app to enter the DeskEats zone, which offers around seven lakh items from over two lakh restaurants. These items are packaged to suit the desk life   no cutlery or elaborate plating needed, just grab, munch, and continue typing.

The pilot phase showed promising signs of product-market fit. In Bengaluru, Chicken Popcorn topped the Stress Munchies chart. Mumbai leaned into Fries, while Gurugram went for Garlic Breadsticks. Across all metros, salads dominated the Healthy Nibbles category. Mumbai also clocked the highest number of DeskEats orders, with One-handed Grabbies contributing to almost a third of them.

Swiggy rolls out DeskEats for office goers after losses widen in Q1 - The Economic Times

Speaking on the rollout, Deepak Maloo, vice president of food strategy, customer experience, and new initiatives at Swiggy, explained the insight behind DeskEats. Today’s professionals are always multitasking, and convenience often trumps everything. The challenge is not just finding a good dosa or a comforting mughlai meal, but finding one that can be eaten with one hand, with minimal cleanup, and during a back-to-back schedule. DeskEats was created for those exact moments from tight deadlines to impromptu team treats.

This new initiative expands Swiggy’s efforts under its Corporate Rewards program, which launched earlier this year. The program has already connected with 14,000 companies and over 1.5 lakh employees in just three months. It offers companies a way to reward employees with benefits like Rs 225 off on food delivery, up to Rs 2,000 off on Dineout, and Rs 100 off on Instamart. Employees can access these perks by typing “Corporate” in the Swiggy app.

By blending convenience with contextual relevance, Swiggy is aiming to become an integral part of the workday rhythm. DeskEats doesn’t just satisfy hunger   it matches the pulse of the modern workplace, where meals need to be as smart and flexible as the people eating them.
