Swiggy, Shantanu Naidu from Tata Trusts, and other pet owners have come up with 'Pawlice' to help find lost pets.

The new feature lets users tell Swiggy if their pet is missing using the app. They can give all the details and show pictures too.

Swiggy, which is a popular app for ordering stuff in India, added something new called Swiggy Pawlice. With this, pet owners can let Swiggy know if their pet goes missing right from the app. Swiggy delivery people will also help in looking for lost pets.

When Swiggy launched this feature, Shantanu Naidu from Tata Trusts and other pet owners were there.

Rohit Kapoor, who runs Swiggy, said, "I'm a pet owner too. I know how scary it is if a pet gets lost. I hope it never happens to anyone, but if it does, Swiggy Pawlice is here to help."

Shantanu Naidu from Tata Trusts said, "It's great to see a big company like Swiggy taking care of pets too. We need more companies to be kind and helpful like this. We want the things we use every day to care about animals and the world we live in. With efforts like the Tata Animal Hospital offering help to stray animals, we're moving in the right direction. Now, it's up to us to join in and make the world better for everyone."

How it works

If Your Pet Goes Missing: You can tell Swiggy through the app. Give them all the information and pictures.

Using Swiggy's Delivery People: Swiggy has a lot of delivery people all over the place. They can help because they're out and about all the time. Sometimes, they're in just the right spot to help find a lost pet.

Telling Swiggy

If a delivery person sees a lost pet, they let Swiggy know where and what they saw. But they're not supposed to catch the pet themselves.

Helping Pet Owners: Swiggy tells the pet owner about the pet's location. Then, the owner can go there and hopefully find their pet.

Celebrating Reunions: Swiggy is happy when pets and owners find each other again. They even give rewards to delivery people who help reunite them.

On April 11, which is National Pet Day, Swiggy also made a "Swiggy Paw-ternity Policy." This is a special policy for all full-time employees who have pets. It gives them leave when they adopt a pet and lets them work from home while the pet settles in. Employees can also take time off for pet vaccinations, care, or if the pet gets sick or hurt. And if a pet passes away, they get time off for that too.
