Dentsu South Asia’s Chief Client Officer, Anita Kotwani, has stepped down from the company, concluding a four-year tenure that saw her lead some of the organisation’s most critical client partnerships across media, creative, CXM, and entertainment verticals.
Kotwani joined Dentsu in 2020 as CEO of Carat India, where she strengthened the agency’s planning philosophy, expanded its client roster, and established a reputation for bringing rigor, transparency, and measurement to the forefront of media decision-making. Her success in building Carat’s position within Dentsu’s ecosystem led to her elevation as CEO, Media South Asia in 2023 — a mandate that required managing integrated media capabilities across India and neighbouring markets.
In 2024, she was appointed Chief Client Officer, Dentsu South Asia, taking responsibility for group-level client partnerships across media, creative, data, CXM, martech, and sports-gaming-entertainment. Her role was pivotal at a time when Dentsu was streamlining its operating model into a unified, client-first ecosystem.
Prior to Dentsu, Kotwani spent 15 years at Mindshare India, where she held several senior leadership roles and contributed to major media wins, national mandates, and some of the country’s largest brand strategies. Her earlier roles at Initiative (Lintas Media Group) strengthened her understanding of cross-category optimisation and media transformation.

Across her career, Kotwani has been known as a client-centric leader with a strong command of media measurement, econometrics, and integrated strategy. Her exit leaves Dentsu with a key leadership position to fill; the agency has not yet announced her successor.
Her departure comes at a time when networks are evolving into platform-driven organisations that require leaders who blend data intelligence, creative orchestration, and digital performance. Kotwani’s body of work — rooted in rigour and partnership — leaves a significant legacy within Dentsu’s operations.
