The Bridal Retreat has announced celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar as its official brand ambassador, bringing a new layer of emotion, storytelling, and reflection to the concept of bridal preparation. Known for his deep understanding of relationships and his ability to portray love and transformation on screen, Karan’s association with The Bridal Retreat adds gravitas to an initiative that is reshaping how brides in India experience the transition to married life.

Unlike conventional bridal events that revolve around decor, fashion, and celebration, The Bridal Retreat positions itself as a space for self discovery and emotional readiness. It focuses on preparing brides for the life they are about to build, not just the wedding they are about to plan. The initiative invites women to take a pause, reflect on their identity, and enter marriage with greater clarity, confidence, and mindfulness.

Karan Johar expressed his admiration for the platform, noting that while he has spent years crafting cinematic love stories, this retreat speaks to the story that often goes untold. He shared that The Bridal Retreat is not about perfect venues or curated aesthetics, but about helping women reconnect with themselves. He believes that in a world of extravagant celebrations, it is easy to overlook the emotional depth that marriage requires. This retreat, he said, brings that inner journey into focus, helping women step into their new roles with intention and self awareness.

The Bridal Retreat is the brainchild of E Factor Experiences, an event company with over two decades of expertise in curating immersive, meaningful formats. Designed as a five day programme, the retreat includes sessions on identity, emotional wellness, communication, and cultural understanding. These are led by professionals across domains such as mental health, movement therapy, relationship guidance, and personal style. The idea is to create a safe, enriching space for participants to explore their thoughts, values, and aspirations as they prepare for married life.

Samit Garg, co founder and managing director of E Factor Experiences, shared that the retreat is a commitment to modern Indian women. He emphasised that weddings may be pivotal moments, but the real foundation is built in how women prepare for what comes after. With Karan Johar on board, he believes the platform gains both visibility and deeper purpose, as his presence brings both cultural relevance and emotional resonance to the retreat.

Curated by founders Manika Garg and Sonali Thakore, each edition of the retreat is intentionally kept small to allow for intimate and personal engagement. The programme has been designed with practical takeaways, aiming to offer more than inspiration it aims to offer tools that brides can carry with them into their new lives. In 2025, retreats are scheduled across multiple cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur, and Goa.

What began as a premium experience for brides has now grown into a larger movement. The Bridal Retreat is encouraging women to prioritise their inner voice, say yes to themselves, and acknowledge that the most important part of a wedding is the woman behind it. It is a timely message in a world that celebrates the external but often overlooks the internal transformation that marriage brings.
