District by Zomato is expanding its live experiences portfolio with a large format Christmas event in Mumbai this year. In partnership with toy retailer Hamleys, the going out platform will present Hamleys Wonderland at Jio World Garden, positioning it as India’s Christmas Carnival for families and children. The Hamleys Wonderland Christmas Carnival will run for 11 days from 21 to 30 December 2025.
Presented by HSBC India and produced and ticketed by District by Zomato, the carnival will transform the venue into an immersive festive space. The plans include interactive play zones, creative workshops for children, themed installations and curated shopping areas, alongside a diverse food and beverage lineup designed to appeal to different tastes.
Visitors can expect a Hamleys grand parade, Christmas carol performances and live acts by artists, with additional programming to be announced closer to the event. The aim is to build a family friendly celebration that blends entertainment, retail and seasonal nostalgia. Tickets are already live on the District app, with HSBC credit cardholders eligible for a 10 percent discount up to Rs 500.

He calls it a cultural moment that delivers immersive entertainment at a world class standard. According to him, repeat attendance and word of mouth from families have validated the concept, with guests arriving in groups and returning for subsequent editions.

Khambhati notes that partnering with a property of this scale supports District by Zomato’s ambition to be India’s preferred platform for experiences, from neighbourhood outings to landmark events. In this case, the company is not only handling ticketing but also producing and amplifying the carnival, using its reach to define what premium family entertainment can look like in the country.
The announcement comes as urban audiences increasingly seek curated outings that combine entertainment, convenience and safety, particularly for children. By anchoring the event at a central location such as Jio World Garden and pairing it with a recognised retail name like Hamleys, District by Zomato is placing itself at the centre of that demand.
For the platform, large format family events serve as a way to deepen engagement beyond restaurant bookings and smaller gatherings. For brand partners, they offer a controlled environment to interact with consumers across age groups during a high spending season.
As more players invest in seasonal festivals and themed experiences, the performance of Hamleys Wonderland will be watched for indicators on pricing, format and repeat potential.
