The International Cricket Council has named Rohit Sharma as Brand Ambassador for the ICC Men T-20 World Cup 2026, confirming the announcement during a schedule reveal event in Mumbai. The two time T-20 World Cup winner becomes the central face of the tournament as it returns to India and Sri Lanka.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah said it was a pleasure to welcome the tournament back to the subcontinent soon after a landmark Women Cricket World Cup. He highlighted the unmatched passion for the game in the region and invited fans to picture the atmosphere at the Narendra Modi Stadium when the trophy is lifted on eight March.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said the 2026 edition marks a new phase for global cricket events with 20 teams from five continents competing in a format known for unpredictability. He noted that six different champions have emerged in less than two decades and described the event return to its biggest market as a feast for global fans.
Rohit reflected on winning the title as a youngster in two thousand seven and again as captain in 2024, recalling Surya Kumar Yadav catch in Barbados, Virat Kohli innings against Pakistan in Melbourne and Yuvraj Singh six sixes in Durban as defining tournament memories. He said it is special to be associated with the event again in a new capacity and wished all players a memorable experience in India.
