Dentsu India and IWMBuzz Media have entered into a long-term partnership that is set to elevate the gaming ecosystem in India. Over the next three years, the two will co-present the India Gaming Awards and jointly release the India Gaming Report, spotlighting the rapid growth of pure-play gaming in the country.
The collaboration builds on the success of the first India Gaming Report, which revealed that India is home to over 13.85 crore gamers. With a mobile-first ecosystem, steady double-digit growth, and rising participation from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, the Indian gaming sector has evolved into one of the fastest-growing entertainment industries. The pure-play gaming market alone is valued at ₹6,715 crore and is expanding at a remarkable 24 percent annually.
The India Gaming Awards will act as a stage to celebrate and connect professional gamers, developers, publishers, influencers, brands, and policymakers. What began as an annual event will now grow into a year-round initiative, encouraging continuous dialogue and deeper industry engagement. Alongside this, the India Gaming Report will continue to serve as an essential resource by tracking consumer behaviour, monetisation models, regulatory shifts, and cultural changes shaping the industry.
Leaders from dentsu have positioned the initiative as both cultural and economic in its impact, highlighting gaming’s potential to move beyond being a rising sector to becoming a defining force for the future of entertainment and digital culture in India. Siddhartha Laik, founder and editor-in-chief of IWMBuzz Media, added that the collaboration will help scale the awards and report, ensuring the narratives around gaming are future-ready.
