Optus Promotes Optimism with a Chicken Marathon

With gyms closing down and people staying home most of the time, a lot of people have gained some extra bulge around their bellies and are in need for some motivation and optimism to get back into shape. Forwarding this idea, Optus came up with a TVC that features a post lockdown scenario where a man in a chicken suit is running a marathon with his daughter as his coach. This stems from a bet he loses with his friends. The broad idea behind the ad is to promote the idea that you experience the greatest moments of achievement in life when you live with optimism and it all begins with a yes.

The ad campaign was created by the New Zealand based agency Special Group. The ad is gripping experience sheerly because of how fun and wacky the whole concept is. Take a look
